Howdy Golfers,
Welcome to all of our new members and returning members.
We are planning a general meeting of all Men’s League Members on Monday, April 19th at the golf club at 6 pm. Please advise if you will be attending that meeting. We plan on starting our season on April 26th.
The weekly cost for golf and dinner will be $32 this year.
The league fee remains unchanged at $80 for the season and will be used to pay for our annual tournament and prizes.
The most important rule is for everyone to have fun!
We’ll continue the weekly long drive and closest to the pin competitions.
We’ll keep the same scoring system as last year. Each foursome will be part of the same team and two foursomes will form each team. The best scores on each hole for your foursome will be added together to get your team scores.
If you are interested in joining the league this year, please email the names and email addresses of your foursome and your preferred t-time. If your foursome is returning from last year, you will be given the option of keeping last year’s t-time. If you are new to the league, please advise your preferred t-time and we’ll place you on a foursome. Our t-times normally start at 4:00 pm and run in 10 minute intervals until approximately 5:30 pm. We’ll again use both Raceview and the front nine on Falcon Ridge each week. Your foursome will alternate courses each week.
Please respond directly to this email at david.mitchell@rogers.com to confirm your intention to golf this year with the Falcon Ridge Monday Night Men’s league.

T-Times:
Please advise your preferred t-time. Returning foursomes will be given the option to keep their t-time from last season. If you are new to the league, please advise your t-time preference. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.
League Dates:
Our league will start on April 26 and continues for 16 weeks. Our golf dates are April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17, May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, July 26, Aug 9, Aug 16, Aug 23.
We will not be golfing on the following statutory holidays: May 24 and Aug 2.
Our Annual Tournament is tentatively planned for Saturday, Sept 11.
Loyalty Program:
The club will be continuing the loyalty program this year. Your golf and dinner costs will earn you loyalty points. More details of this exciting program are available on the club website at www.falconridgegolf.ca .
50/50 Draw:
We will continue with the weekly 50/50 draws. The cost is only $2 for 1 ticket or 3 tickets for $5 to get in on the action. You can buy your tickets at the bar before your game or during supper. The proceeds will be used towards our annual banquet and tournament costs.
Weekly “Long Drive” and “Closest to the Pin” Contest:
Our weekly long drive and closest to the pin contests will be held on the same holes each week on both Raceview and Falcon Ridge. The closest to the pin holes will be on Raceview #8 and on Falcon Ridge #9. The long drive holes will be on Raceview #6 and on Falcon Ridge #8. Falcon Ridge will be sponsoring this event again this year.
Please talk to Stephanie to receive your prize. To win the closest to the pin contest, your ball has to end up on the green. To win the longest drive contest, your ball has to end up on the fairway. You are allowed to win the long drive and closest to the pin only once each per year during league play. If you have already won the closest to the pin or longest drive this year, please do not move the marker if you are closer or longer.
Rain Outs: If we are rained out, please consider coming to the club for dinner despite the weather. It’s a night out and you don’t have to cook. Come on out and mingle with your fellow golfers. It’s a social league and that’s a perfect time to get to meet other golfers. There’s usually a game on the tube to watch as well.
Group Lessons: We’ll soon announce details of the popular weekly Group Lessons. We expect they’ll start by mid to late May. Stay tuned.
Annual Tournament: Our annual tournament and closing banquet date is tentatively planned for Saturday, September 11 starting at 11:30 am on Falconridge. Please mark that date on your calendar.
Housekeeping:
1) All players must sign in at the Pro Shop before Teeing Off.
2) If you are not going to be staying for supper on a given Monday, please contact the club at (613) 822-6742 or by email at falconridge.leagues@gmail.com by noon each Monday. You’ll be given a $10 restaurant credit if you have to miss a dinner.
3) It’s assumed that you will be staying for supper if you didn’t phone or email the club by noon on Monday to state otherwise.
4) Suggestions are always welcome!
5) Please try to arrive at the club in advance of your scheduled t-time and be prepared to start earlier if other groups are running late.
Teams:
We’ll keep the same simplified team scoring concept that we used last year. Each member of your foursome will be part of the same team and two foursomes will be selected to form a team. The best score on each hole for your foursome will be added together to get your team score. We’ll form the teams at the end of the first 4 weeks to allow us time to properly match up the teams.
Your team standings will be posted each week in the clubhouse on the bulletin board. Please ensure you team scorecard is handed in at the bar each week and that your players names are legible.
League Perks:
As a league member, you are entitled to a large bucket of range balls each week. If you don't have time to warm up before your game, ask for a free bucket of balls coupon when you check in and come back another time to practice. Power golf carts on league nights are $12 per cart. We’ll also receive a 20% discount on all pro shop items (except clubs) on Monday nights. So why not take advantage of this and wait to make your golf purchases at the club on Monday nights to save money and help our club grow. Last but not least, it’s a perk to be served by the Ladies of Raceview!
Golf Etiquette:
Please make an extra effort to fix your pitch marks on the greens. It’s a good practice to fix your ball mark and at least one more, even if it wasn’t yours. Please leave the course in better shape than when you started. Ball mark repair tools are available free of charge at the club house if you need one. Please waive faster groups through to keep things moving, especially if you have a clear hole in front of you. Remember that Range Balls are only to be used on the driving range. Keep all carts away from greens, tees and bunkers.
League Rules: (to speed up play)
The penalty for “Out of Bounds” or a "Lost Ball" during league play is 1 stroke only, not stroke and distance. Just drop a ball within 2 club lengths of where your ball last crossed into the hazard and play away. There is no need to play a provisional ball. The maximum score on a hole is double par. If you reach that number, please pick up your ball. Remember for team scoring purposes, the lowest score on the hole in your foursome is what counts. If the group behind you is waiting for you please waive them through or speed up your play. Please limit the time looking for lost golf balls to a maximum of 1 minute.
Spare Policy:
If you can't golf on a given Monday, please arrange for a spare to come out. Your spare will pay you directly because you have already prepaid for your round and for dinner. Please advise your spare to check in at the pro shop before teeing off. If your spare can’t stay for supper, please advise the club at 822-6742 by Monday at noon so they can budget the proper amount of food for the night. You’ll be entitled to a $10 restaurant credit. Spares scores will count for team scoring purposes.
